Bobbye “Doll” Johnson

Born Bobbie Jean Nix to Ollie and Betty McNeil Nix, Bobbye was brought into the world by a midwife in the Livingston University Hospital Cuba, Alabama.  Bobbye lived in Meridian, Mississippi half her life. As a young girl, Bobbye was too shy to sing, never knowing the God given talent hidden within her. Inspired to express her emotions from failed relationships and successful ones, came her first hits, "Been There And Done That" and "Saving My Love".

Bobbye was inspired by artists such as Betty Wright, Millie Jackson, Lynn White, Aretha Franklin, Patti La-Belle, Anita Baker, Bonnie Raitt, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and others.

Bobbye opened and sang background for Stan Mosley, "Don't Make Me Creep," and "Rock Me" in 1998 and 1999. In 2000, her second hit CD, "Let The Doorknob Hit Ya" was over-shadowed by the deaths of her parents, oldest brother and  sister and a failed marriage. Bobbye then took time off from the industry to heal with the help of her remaining eleven siblings.

Her hit CD in 1999, "Let The Doorknob Hit Ya!"went commercial radio in 2006 and #5 on the blues station WSSD 98.5 FM in Chicago.

Bobbye currently resides in Atlanta, Ga. Bobbye's soulful, sassy, and sexy style has been captivating audiences nation-wide and around the world.

Bobbye, as the CEO of her own production company (Music Soul Productions), has worked with artists such as Mel Waiters, Marvin Sease, Stan Mosley Willie Clayton, Theodis Ealey, Willie Hill, O.B. Buchanan, Bobby Rush and Louisiana's own "Bad Boy of Southern Soul", Mr. T.K. Soul.

Well, after a long hiatus, Bobbye “Doll” Johnson is back on the scene with her new CD release entitled, "Rocking This Boat". This phenomenal release has gone commercial radio and has remained there for over a year.  The CD garnered Bobbye distinction as nominee for "Best New Southern Soul Artist of the Year – Female, with Jus' Blues Music Awards held in Memphis, Tennessee in 2008.  It was also listed in the Top 20 Blues Critic report for the better part of two months!

Bobbye says, "I love my fans and I hope you enjoy the Album. Thank You and God Bless!!!!!

Born January 3rd, Pat Cooley was the oldest of 3 children born to Robert & Marie Cooley.  Pat started singing at the age of 10 at a church choir anniversary in her hometown of Marietta, Ga.  While attending school she sang in the senior and junior church choirs.  She also took private voice lessons from Worldwide Opera star Lillian Sullivan.

After graduating school, Pat started singing in R&B Clubs in the Atlanta area and performing sound alike tapes for a local recording studio.  While appearing in local clubs she was approached by Clarence Carter who was interested in recording her.  She began working for Clarence as his secretary in his recording studio and would help in the studio sometimes doing back-up work or laying demos.  By 1980 she was Clarence’s opening act.

In 1983 she decided to diversify her musical style and went on a DOD Tour with a Country & Western Band, which turned out to be quite a success.  Her travels include Turkey, Greece, Beirut, Italy and Spain.  She also entertained troops in Beirut and sang on the USS Iwo Jima and the USS Portland.

In 1984 Pat went on tour and her travels that year included South Africa, Japan, Italy, Amsterdam and Paris.  After being so warmly received Pat recorded her first album entitled “DOUBLE TALK”.  She released several singles from this album without a hit.  She then went on to record her CD entitled “WARM HUG”.  This CD also did not produce a hit.  Well folks, the third times a charm and you are invited to listen and enjoy Pat’s third release entitled “REAL THING”.

Born in Meridian, Mississippi on the fourteenth (14) day of September(Virgo), I, Pat Brown (then Pat Rush), attended grade school where I participated in, and won, numerous talent shows as a part of my musical beginning.

I attended Harris Jr. College, also in Meridian, where I joined a group called The Dynamics which later became The Commodores.

As a child, my Idols and babysitters were Al Wilson(Show & Tell), David Ruffin(The Temptations) and Jimmy Ruffin(brother of David and a great professional singer and song writer) who all pushed or inspired me to continue to sing and work hard. They gave me encouragement to be successful with my singing career.

After Jr. college, I attended Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Missisippi where I performed with numerous local and professional groups. After college, I moved to Jackson, Mississippi where I live at this time.

I have performed with the following artist, either as a a part of their show or as the opening act, such as: B.B. King, Percy Sledge, Tyrone Davis, Bobby Rush, Al Green, Johnny Taylor, Willie Clayton (my hero) and many many others.

I have performed primarily in the south, but also in Detriot, Chicago, Washington, D.C., New York City, St. Louis, San Fransisco, Long Beach, Milwaukee, Miami, Helsinki Finland and Amsterdam, Holland.

My wish is that this is only the beginning of a long streak of hit albums that You, the Public, will love and enjoy, and also that I will continue to give you only the best my music which I feel that You, the public, deserve.

Thank You Very Much and I love You All,

Pat Brown
